Podcast-spiration

Sometimes you get in grooves, or slumps, and don’t even know it til someone shows you something new.  SERIAL opened the podcast door for me. From there I have found a few I enjoy and thought I would share.  If you’re listening to something that lights you up, comment and let us all know! Without further adieu, these keep me inspired, open minded, or just entertained. (In no particular order)

Beauty Inside Out with Kimberly Snyder

Kimberly’s mission is clear: to educate, inspire and empower YOU to become your most beautiful self from the inside out.”

The Inspired Table with Jordana Levin

null1“Jordanna Levin, creator of The Inspired Table, is a holistic lifestyle coach whose focus is to heal people’s ‘complicated’ relationship with food and live more mindfully. She believes life should constantly inspire and nourish you, so she created this podcast series as your go to inspirational tool. Through her coaching programs, cooking workshops, inspiring speaking gigs and popular food blog she’s rewriting decades worth of misleading messaging and creating a new movement of mindful and inspired living. Join her as she interviews the soul-centred folk who inspire her in the hope that some of that inspiration will rub off on you.”

The Tim Ferriss Show

“Tim Ferriss is a self-experimenter and bestselling author, best known for The 4-Hour null3Workweek, which has been translated into 40+ languages. Newsweek calls him “the world’s best human guinea pig,” and The New York Times calls him “a cross between Jack Welch and a Buddhist monk.” In this show, he deconstructs world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, chess, pro sports, etc.), digging deep to find the tools, tactics, and tricks that listeners can use.”

I love this one. The interviews are long, but the people are interesting. Tim is pretty interesting himself. The stories these people tell of the lives they lead makes you want to live out your own dreams.

Science VS

null5“There are a lot of fads, blogs and strong opinions, but then there’s SCIENCE. Science Vs is the new show from Gimlet Media that finds out what’s fact, what’s not, and what’s somewhere in between. We do the hard work of sifting through all the science so you don’t have to. This season we’ll be tackling organic food, fracking, gun control, the G spot, and more.”

Super interesting, great topics, and again, another fun accent.

TED Radio Hour with Guy Raz

“The TED Radio Hour is a journey through fascinating ideas: astonishing inventions, freshnull4 approaches to old problems, new ways to think and create. Based on Talks given by riveting speakers on the world-renowned TED stage, each show is centered on a common theme – such as the source of happiness, crowd-sourcing innovation, power shifts, or inexplicable connections. The TED Radio Hour is hosted by Guy Raz, and is a co-production of NPR & TED. Follow the show @TEDRadioHour.”

TEDTalks (audio)- Ideas Worth Spreading

“TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. On this feed, you’ll find TEDTalks video to inspire, intrigue and stir the imagination from some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers, speaking from the stage at TED conferences, TEDx events and partner events around the world. This podcast is also available in high-def video and audio-only formats.”

These ones are generally shorter, like 10-15 minutes.

Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald

MY GUILTY PLEASURE- don’t listen with kids in the car…lots of F-bombs 🙂

null“Heather loves juicy scoops, topics and guests and that is just what she’ll be delving into each week on her podcast. Much like the very missed Chelsea Lately, that Heather wrote and appeared on since it’s inception, Heather will tackle the juiciest and most controversial topics that are in the Zeitgeist. Heather will not hold back on her opinion on anything or anyone and when talking to guests ranging anywhere from actors, to comics to reality stars, Heather will ask the questions you were always wondering about yourself.”

There is my list! There have been others, but these one are my weekly go-to’s. I hope you check ’em out and let me know…if you like ’em. Or tell me about another!  I just get bored with radio sometimes. Maybe I’m in a music slump. If you have music suggestions too, I would love it!
Happy Listening-Happy Steeping,

Tori
